FIFA 2010 Goal Keepers
FIFA 2010's 'Realistic' Goal Keepers?
I played FIFA 2010 on the PS3.
After a couple of goals conceded, I am at a loss for words.
Goal keepers commit ridiculous errors!
Are these errors a bug issue with the game? Or this is just a realism issue?
Here are the jokes I encountered.
1. Drop Kicks
My GK won the ball in a crowded penalty box.
The opposing strikers are still around my GK.
To restart play quick, I press the button for a routine drop kick.
To my horror, my GK 'crash' into the opposing striker and the ball fell nicely for him, to tap into an empty box.
Culprit - Iker Casillas
2. Crosses
A cross comes into the box, and my GK allows it to loop right over his head, to land perfectly onto a Striker just beside him to head it in.
A low cross pass by directly in front of my GK, and he did not bother to intercept it.
A striker at the far post taps it in.
Culprit - Almunia
3. Looping Headers
My GK likes to stay out of his line. From just inside the penalty box, a Striker scores with a header that loops over my GK into goal.
Culprit - Iker Casillas
4. Ignoring Own Goals
Finally, I am the one benefiting.
My powerful through pass to my LW was intercepted by a defender with a sliding tackle, way outside the penalty box.
The ball deflected off him and loop slowly into his own goal.
The GK just stood and watch.
Culprit - Cech
Realistic or Stupid?
FIFA 2010 is a realistic game and Almunia tends to make such errors at times.
But Casillas and Cech?
Guess they are just having a bad day during my game.
Overall, FIFA 2010 is a brilliant game.
Playing PES 2010 and FIFA 2010 is like having the best of both worlds.
